Is it possible to lose 10 pounds in a month?
Since given birth over 2 years ago, I have been looking for healthy ways on how to lose 10 pounds in a month without exercise.
Don’t get me wrong, exercise is definitely needed. However, the pregnancy left me with a few complications that make working out a little harder than what I was doing before.
So an alternative would be to find a good way to lose 10 pounds with little to no exercise.
I am still doing light walking to keep myself moving and my daughter does keep me active with the regular running around, but I still wanted a routine.
If I could be an extra 10 pounds lighter, I will be in heaven.
I would feel much healthier and hopefully, my medical complications would disappear with the 10 pounds (I really hope).

Is it realistic to lose 10 pounds in a month?
Before you decide to lose the 10 pounds that you so do not want, you need to know why you are doing it.
Is it for health reasons (like me)? Or do you just not like the way you look? Have you recently let yourself go?
This could be due to other commitments such as work, school, life, and busy scheduling. Whatever your reasoning is, find your true passion for why you want to lose the weight.
This is what will drive you to actually lose that extra 10 pounds.
So is it realistic to lose 10 pounds in a month?
If you are serious about your goals and you are motivated enough, you can lose weight easily if you are strict about it.
For example, due to health reasons, I am getting pretty strict about my commitment to losing the 10 pounds.
Just so you are aware: Losing 1 pound means burning about 3,500 calories. And in order to lose 10 pounds in a month, you will need to burn 35, 000 calories in a month.
Per day, you will need to burn at least 1, 167 calories!

This means that some exercise might be needed to realistically achieve this goal. Time to start counting calories!!!
How Many Calories Should You Eat To Lose 10 Pounds?
As a woman, on average we have to consume about 2000 calories per day to maintain a healthy weight status and to lose about one pound a week you are looking at consuming 1500 calories per day!
And for men, it’s 2500 calories and 2000 to lose a pound a week!
This is on average as it depends on your daily activity levels, your height, and other factors.

Here is exactly what I did to lose 10 pounds in a month without exercise:
1// Avoid Sugar Foods This Month
The first thing I did to lose the extra 10 pounds I have been randomly carrying on me (trust me, it is totally unwanted), was to cut out all sugar where I could.
This one thing helped me shed weight like melting chocolate.
So many things around us have sugar in them, so if you can avoid sugar like the plague then you are halfway to your goal.
This means cutting out chocolate (and I love chocolate), cutting out sodas (sorry coke) and everything else that comes packed with sugar!
**Please note: I won’t lie here, I still drink my coffee and I can not do it without any sugar. But instead of the 4 cups a day that I typically drink, I am down to 2 cups – That’s good, right?
You can technically use sweetener if you really wanted too!

2// Get Enough Sleep Every Night
My partner, unfortunately, suffers from insomnia and because he is up many nights, he typically gets bored. TV and food are what he ends up resorting too.
And eating in the middle of the night is a big no, as you are not very active at night.
If you can get at least 8 hours of proper sleep, then you can avoid overeating especially if you’re trying to lose 10 pounds in a month!
Lack of sleep is typically connected to feeling more hungry and I really believe it is because you are not really doing anything constructive at 3 am on a Wednesday.
So the moral of my story is to sleep, my friends.

3// Eat A High Protein Healthy Breakfast
I am not a breakfast person, I will pour myself a cup of coffee and I am out that door without thinking twice.
If you really want to lose 10 pounds without exercise, consider the things you are eating and even what you are not eating.
A healthy breakfast is definitely a big yes in my books.
Whether you are thinking of having a healthy smoothie with a scoop of whey protein to go, or a veggie omelet or even something simple as Greek yogurt, just be sure to eat breakfast.
In fact, as I write this, I am actually having an omelet. Why should you stick to a protein-based breakfast if you are trying to lose 10 pounds?
Protein is known to help you lose weight by reducing your appetite and cutting your calorie consumption which is what we are aiming to do.

4// Drink Water – Stay Hydrated
This should have been my first point.
Before I have breakfast or put anything in my mouth, water is my go-to! Water also gives you the assumption that you may not be that hungry and also helps avoid overeating.
I am also big on drinking water between meals that way I don’t overeat!
And water is just good for you.
It’s good for your skin, your hair, the inside of your body as it helps flush toxins in your system.
5// Chew Your Food Slowly
Ever heard of this trick?
I did this a lot while I was in high school and it was mostly because of my aunt! She basically yelled at me one day when she caught me eating and chewing so fast!
To my defense, I was starving. A girl has got to eat, and I was only 15 and extremely sporty!
Basically, you have to eat and chew more slowly, drink some water, pause before taking your next bite. You will be fuller quick without actually eating more.
And apparently (According to my Aunt), it takes a whole 30 minutes for your brains to register that you are full.
By eating too fast, you might overstuff yourself and by the time your brain thinks, you would have eaten an extra 1000 calories.
In other words, slow down.
6// Count Calories?
This one is totally up to you, I do not count calories and I am not saying it’s good or a bad thing!
I just like to be more natural.
We already shared with you how much calories you will need to burn and maybe keeping track of this is an ideal solution for you.

Sip on green tea if you are looking to lose some weight!
I think green tea fixes everything! If you are trying to lose 10 pounds without exercising, try a green tea! Green tea is full of antioxidants and different plant compounds that are beneficial to your health.
PS: Green tea does contain caffeine!
Green tea extract has been repeatedly linked to increased fat burning, especially during exercise so drink up.
Which green tea is best for weight loss?
I personally love the Ginger Infused Green tea which is popular and mostly recommended for weight loss.
But the Sencha green tea which is popular in Asia and Matcha green tea will also do the trick!
8// Skip the Carbs or Not to Skip The Carbs
In my opinion, do not skip the carbs!
I am a big believer in eating almost anything in moderation unless it is refined, processed or just bad for you.
When you start eliminating things from your diet which is actually good for you in moderation, I tend to not accept this. I would eat low and healthy carbs and in moderation instead of cutting out completely.
And what happens when you get back into eating it later? You put the weight right back on.
Instead, keep it to a minimum or avoid eating them after 5 pm at night! I am more into keeping it low and managing what I put in my body.
To accomplish your weight loss goals , I would suggest going with a low carb diet or avoid it totally after a certain time. This will also help you burn belly fat and give you that flat belly you have been dying for.
9// Bring your own lunch to work
If you eat lunch, try to eat a healthy lunch or at the very least, make it a homemade healthy lunch!
A majority of people tend to put on weight when eating out during the work week!
It’s of a time management thing when everyone seems to not have time to pack lunch from the leftovers. I suggest finding the time to lunch prep your meals.

10// Try Intermittent Fasting
I am not going to lie, I have not tried this but I am very curious about it.
They are a few things I do not like, trendy things and dieting. I like to do everything in moderation and this will eventually work much more efficiently!
But this intermittent fasting is something I am not ruling out, and I MIGHT GIVE IT A TRY! A very big “I might”!
Intermittent Fasting is basically a way of eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating!
An Intermittent Fasting schedule would look like this:
- The 16/8 method: This involves skipping breakfast and restricting your daily eating period to 8 hours, such as 1–9 p.m. Then you fast for 16 hours in between. – I would probably do this method!
- Eat-Stop-Eat: This involves fasting for 24 hours, once or twice a week, for example by not eating from dinner one day until dinner the next day. – This one is scary!
- The 5:2 diet: You can only consume 500–600 calories on two non-consecutive days of the week, but eat normally the other 5 days. – Not bad!
Intermittent fasting is one method many have used to lose 10 pounds in a month without exercise!

Alright, this post was meant to share with you how to lose 10 pounds in a month without exercise and here I am telling you about getting moving and shaking!
I don’t mean full-on exercise such as going to the gym, running or doing jumping jacks. All I mean is doing something basic such as taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator.
Or walking the dog and getting paid for it, or even just going for a swim at a beach!

But they are a few other things you can do to speed up your fat loss goals such as:
- Avoiding fast foods and foods that are bad for you (I don’t consume things with high content of sodium
- Avoid eating too many or a few calories – Keep your calorie intake in mind but do not obsess over it
- Avoid checking the scale frequently when on a fat loss journey
- Don’t stick to your one month rule, if it seems hard, do it in 6 weeks or 2 months instead
- Avoid crazy diets that will only have you gain the weight again
- Don’t over stress if you cheat or your are not meeting your goals like you want too
