Cucumber diet to lose weight
Are you curious about the 7-day cucumber diet?
Me too.
In fact, I will be starting this diet this coming Sunday but I wanted to prepare for it, by documenting exactly what I will be eating over the course of 7 days.
This way, I am not tempted to cheat or anything.
I also wanted to do it in the healthiest possible way to ensure I am still healthy.
I am not a big fan of dieting but I really need to lose 10 pounds in a month fast as I feel like I am at an unhealthy weight.
And I figured the cucumber diet can give me the little boost I need to keep pushing through my weight journey.
I am not telling you to drop everything and start this diet.
I’m personally doing this for health reasons and I have consulted with a doctor.
When researching a good diet to do to jump-start my healthy lifestyle, I found this 7 day cucumber diet and I got intrigued.
Basically, because I do love cucumber.
But I really wanted to see for myself if cucumber for weight loss was a good way to lose the extra fat.

I took the time to research and tried out the diet.

What is the 7 Day cucumber diet?
Before starting this diet, it is best you understand exactly what the cucumber diet is.
Basically, this diet promises that you could lose 15 pounds in 14 days.
I will not be doing this diet for 14 days, only for the 7 day period.
I will be following the cucumber diet plan for 7 days the best that I can.
The diet requires you to eat cucumbers for the duration of your diet to see great results.
In order to stay healthy and do this properly, I will be adding other sources of nutrients to go with my 7-day cucumber diet.
I feel like eating only cucumbers to lose weight is not the best plan of action.

The cucumber diet is a weight loss diet that promises people that do it that it can help you lose 15 pounds (7 kg) in 7–14 days.
And it is a diet that primarily focuses on cucumbers and in most cases like this one is paired with some protein-rich foods
Doing the cucumber diet for 7 days can help you lose between 3 and 5 kilos if you are overweight.
This is because cucumber does not have a significant caloric intake as it is mainly water.
The Cucumber Diet will help to cleanse the intestine, even promote digestion, and detoxifies the body which is a plus.
I also like the fact that it fights against fluid retention (which I tend to have) and it speeds up metabolism.

Before attempting I wanted to get all the information I needed before attempting something new.
Obviously, you need to ask your own doctor before attempting to ensure that it will work for you.

So are cucumbers good for weight loss? And does eating only cucumbers to lose weight help with detoxing?
As far as I can say, the answer is yes!
I believe cucumber for weight loss is perfectly fine.
Cucumbers are low in calories and contain a good amount of water and soluble fibre, making them ideal for promoting hydration and aiding in weight loss.
When people ask me “does eating cucumber reduce belly fat”, I usually say it depends on how much belly fat you started with.
Overall, you can lose quite a bit of weight if you stick to your diet plan and avoid all other unhealthy foods.
But if you are curious, we can get in on finding out if eating cucumbers for weight loss does work!

Here is we take a look at the nutrients in cucumber, you will see that it is mostly water:
- Calories: 8
- Fat: 0.1g
- Sodium: 1mg
- Carbohydrates: 1.9g
- Fibre: 0.3g
- Sugars: 0.9g
- Protein: 0.3g
This is for half a cup of cucumber with its peel still on but sliced (52g).
With this information, it’s safe to say that, you lose weight with a cucumber diet and definitely lose belly fat.
For the simple fact that cucumbers are low in calories and contain zero fats, these two components will help you lose weight fast if you primarily eat cucumber.

1. Here is my 7-day cucumber diet meal plan
I am sharing a few examples of breakfast, lunch and dinner that I will be doing when I start my 7-day cucumber diet next week.

Here are my healthy cucumber recipes for weight loss:
Day 1 Meal Plan
Breakfast:
1 to 2 cucumbers sliced with low-fat yogurt of your choice.
Drink a green tea with no sugar (my go-to is this organic Sencha green tea!)
Snack:
To be eaten mid-morning.
A couple of almond nuts (8-10 almonds a day is good enough).
If you have allergies, swap this out with sliced apples.
If you have no allergies, you can do sliced apples with almond butter as a dip.
Lunch:
For lunch have a large plate of cucumber salad and a slice of whole-wheat toast.
I found this delicious cucumber salad that you can try out.
It takes exactly 15 minutes or less to prep and to make.
If you are feeling adventurous, add some tuna to the mix.
Drink water or anything healthy (avoid pop or sugary beverages).
Dinner
Chicken Cucumber Pitas wrap for dinner.
Perfect for everyone in the family.

If possible, skip the mayo!
End your day with lots of water and green tea.
Day 2 Meal Plan
Breakfast:
Whole-wheat toast with Avocado and Cucumber.
I love avocado, so any chance to eat some, you know I will eat some.
Not only is this breakfast filling, but it is extremely tasty.
Have two.

**Skip the soy sauce.
Snack
8 – 10 Cucumber slices.
If you want a dip, hummus will work.
Lunch
Try out this epic spinach cucumber smoothie.
This Spinach Cucumber Smoothie is rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fibre.
Totally love how tasty it was.
Feel free to add a protein powder shake if you want some energy and to make it a meal.
Dinner
Stir-Fried Cucumbers With Spicy Ground Pork is the perfect way to end your day.
Everything is supposed to be low fat, so make sure you substitute anything fatty.
For example, this recipe calls for salt, I use no salt on my diet due to my high blood pressure.
Instead, I use spices that have zero salts.

Day 3 Meal Plan
Breakfast
8-10 cucumber slices with 2 hard-boiled eggs.
Snack
1 or 2 fruit of choice.
I enjoy a good orange or a tangerine.
Lunch:
Lemon Dill Cucumber Sandwiches is great and saves time if you can prep it the night before.
This recipe is more of a snack, but I would make it into a meal instead.
Add a few slices of cucumber on the side as well.

Simple cucumber soup for the family.
Why do I love this recipe?
Because it calls for no salt, pepper, or seasonings, just a good vegetable broth.
And you can add a piece of toast to make it a little filling.

Day 4 Meal Plan
Breakfast
1 to 2 cucumbers sliced with low-fat yogurt of your choice.
Drink a green tea with no sugar (my go-to is this organic Sencha green tea!)
Snack
1 or 2 fruit of choice.
I enjoy a good orange or a tangerine.
Lunch
Do the epic spinach cucumber smoothie.
Add the protein powder to your shake-smoothie if you wish.
Dinner

Day 5 Meal Plan
Breakfast
Whole-wheat toast with Avocado and Cucumber.
Snack
8 – 10 Cucumber slices with hummus.
Lunch
A simple cucumber salad will work well for lunch today.
For that, I tried out this epic Strawberry, Cucumber & Honeydew Salad.
It’s a fruit salad which is light.
Dinner
I really love this Greek Cucumber Beef Pita meal.
This is a Greek-style sandwich, so give it a go.
Here is the recipe I followed.
Day 6 Meal Plan
Breakfast
8-10 cucumber slices with 2 hard-boiled eggs.
Snack
A couple of almond nuts (8-10 almonds).
Lunch
For lunch have a large plate of cucumber salad and a slice of whole-wheat toast.
Do this delicious cucumber salad again!
It’s so good.
Dinner
Do the Stir-Fried Cucumbers With Spicy Ground Pork.

Day 7 Meal Plan
Wow, the last day of our 7-day cucumber diet plan.
You made it.
At this point, if you have any cucumbers leftover, be sure to use them up in either the soup recipe or a cucumber smoothie.
Here is my last-day cucumber diet meal plan.
Breakfast
1 to 2 cucumbers sliced with low-fat yogurt of your choice.
Drink a green tea with no sugar!
Snack
1 or 2 fruit of choice.
Lunch
The cucumber diet can be anything you want as long as you are primarily using cucumber.
Adding a protein to the mix is a healthy option.
For my last day, I did a smoothie to get rid of all the cucumbers and spinach I had.
I also added a protein powder to the mix to amp it up.
Dinner
I did the Greek Cucumber Beef Pita meal again :)!

This is my 7 day cucumber diet meal plan, but you are more than welcome to switch yours up if you want.

2. Cucumber Detox Water Recipes for Flat Belly
I will also be creating some cucumber water recipes to promote my weight loss plan.
Here is the ingredient I will be using for my detox:
Lemon, Mint & Cucumber Detox Water
- 3 litres of water
- 1/2 cucumber
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 10 – 12 mint leaves
Preparation:

- Add all ingredients to a large jug.
- Allow to steep overnight in the fridge to release all the flavours.
Does the 7 day cucumber diet work?
This is the one question most people have about this diet:
Does the cucumber diet actually work?
In my opinion, yes it does.
Cucumber is not fattening at all.
And by incorporating it into your fun diet, you can easily lose weight.
Expect to lose about 7-10 pounds.
Cucumber will:
- Re-hydrate your body
- Remove bad toxins from your body
- Balance your PH level as you are detoxing
- Definitely, lower blood pressure which is one of the reasons I am doing it
- Reset your system

What are the disadvantages of eating cucumber?

Keep in mind that cucumbers contain a small number of nutrients, This means that you definitely need to add other nutrients to the diet to ensure that you are not starving.
Eating just cucumber is not healthy for anyone and could lead to health problems.
My diet includes additional things such as avocado, salmon, chicken and beef in some cases.
Take a daily vitamin which I normally take anyways.
